Pacific Sunrise Hop Profile
Pacific Sunrise™ hops are a New Zealand variety that were bred by the HortResearch Institute. It was released in 2000, but hasn’t gotten much acreage planted until recently. It was originally thought of as a high alpha variety, but its fruit-forward nature has made it a great fit for modern IPAs. Citrus, sweet fruit, and berry aromas are mainly what brewers are after when brewing with Pacific Sunrise. Pacific Sunrise also offers some subtle elements of flowers, hay, and pine, making it a solid choice to incorporate into your more classic West Coast IPAs and American Pale Ales.
