Summit Hops
Summit Hop Pellet Profile
Summit® hops were the first hop to be released by the ADHA back in 2003. It is a high Alpha Acid (16-19%) variety derived from Lexus, Zeus, Nugget, and some open pollination. Summit® is primarily used for bittering, but can contribute a very pungent aroma that is characterized by herbs and spices like black pepper and anise. Incredibly fresh Summit® often smells of onions and garlic(due to the high AA), but will dissipate after oxidizing for a day or so.
